Lava always wants to have her puppies around her. Sometimes, however, we put the puppies in two other boxes. e.g. whenever the whelping box is made fresh. Lava has now found the answer – space is in the smallest hut! And if she does not fit in, she just sits near by.
On the pictures you can also see Summer, our Hovawart dog. She was raised by Lava and Lava allows her to be close to the puppies. This is a very relaxed situation. We expect Summer to take on the role of an aunt when the puppies are a bit bigger.
For us this is a great luck, because such a relaxed relationship between two bitches is not self-evident!
